Peter Jones
Manchester-based Peter Emerson Jones identified the potential for second homes in Portugal during the early 1970s, well before the concept gained broader recognition. Through Jones Homes Portugal, he built and delivered a portfolio of respected developments in the Algarve, including Jardim do Vau, Oasis Parque, Lakeside Village in Quinta do Lago and Boavista Golf & Spa Resort near Lagos. His emphasis on reliability, build quality and long-term planning helped professionalise the property and golf sector and gave UK buyers confidence to invest in Portugal. Over time, his developments have attracted an increasingly international clientele, reflecting the growing maturity and credibility of the market.
Andre Jordan
The late Andre Jordan is widely recognised as having been one of the pioneers of modern resort development in Portugal. At a time when the Algarve was largely undeveloped and internationally unknown, he introduced an integrated resort model that brought together high quality residential property, hospitality and golf. His landmark projects such as Quinta do Lago and later Vilamoura established new benchmarks for planning, infrastructure and lifestyle. Andre’s work later extended to developments such as Belas, near Lisbon, and he played a pivotal role in positioning Portugal as a premium destination for international buyers and investors.
Gerry Fagan
During more than 25 years in Portugal, Algarve-based Gerry Fagan has been instrumental in the creation of large scale residential and leisure led communities. During this period, he has been involved in the delivery of more than 2,500 homes and eight golf courses. Gerry’s influence can be seen across destinations such as Amendoeira in the Algarve and Royal Óbidos near Obidos, where property, golf and lifestyle amenities have been combined to create integrated developments that appeal to both residents and long-term investors.
