Jorge de Abreu is a founding partner of the leading Portuguese law firm Abreu & Marques e Associados, (www.amsa.pt) who are long standing Corporate members of the Chamber.
Abreu & Marques began in 1972 and was one the first Portuguese law firms to open offices abroad, beginning with their London branch which opened in 1987 and became a member of The Law Society. In 1992 the firm opened an office in Funchal to handle business with the Madeira International Business Centre. Currently it has associations with law firms in Angola and Mozambique and correspondents throughout Europe, the United States and in Brazil, via its membership of The Law Firm Network. In other areas of the world it has correspondents via its membership with Praelegal, another law firm network based in Germany, Istanbul and Qatar.
Simon Perks
Vice Chairman
Managing Director at Perks Property Finance Solutions
Simon is the former Deputy General Manager of the London branch of Banco Santander Totta SA, a Portuguese commercial bank now part of Grupo Santander.
Simon is considered an expert on non-residential mortgages and has worked in the mortgage market since 1989. As a regular business visitor to Portugal since 1992, he has followed the growth and progress of the market. He is particularly fond of the Lagos area and has in-depth knowledge of the Algarve region asserting that, “People who buy property in Portugal fall in love with the country.” Despite the difficulties experienced since 2007 Simon believes that the Portuguese real estate market has a strong future, with many investors still purchasing quality high-end property in the region.

He has been a member of the Portuguese Chamber since 1995 and became a Chamber Director with responsibility for the Algarve event programme in 2007.

Simon was elected Vice Chairman of the Chamber in December 2010.
Geoffrey Graham

Geoffrey is a dual British and Irish national. After studying law at Birmingham and York and starting his legal career in Belfast and the City, he moved to Portugal.
He has been living and working in Lisbon for 18 years and is registered as an English solicitor with the Portuguese Law Society. He specializes in advising UK residents on their Portuguese investments, including their tax and real estate matters. In order to deal with the high demand for advice on the very favorable tax regime in Portugal (the Non Habitual Tax Residence or NHR Programme) he has formed an experienced bilingual team who provide the full range of advice for NHR applicants, from the preliminary advice to the advice on the filing of the first NHR tax return and all of the tax, property and ancillary advice required in between.
Pedro Patricio

Pedro is a long-time expatriate with years of international business and diplomatic experience. As an international business professional (MBA), and a marketeer, Pedro has many years’ experience in leading the strategic direction and performance management of AICEP Portugal Global, which is an international network based in Portugal that promotes inward investment into Portugal and also exports from Portugal.
Recent roles in AICEP have included running the directorate responsible for attracting large scale FDI into Portugal and supporting the internationalization of large Portuguese corporations.

Pedro has working relationships with numerous international bodies including the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Development Bank, the European Commission and NATO.
João Mattamouros Resende

Partner of Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira, a leading law firm in Portugal with offices throughout the world, notably in London. He is admitted to practice in Portugal, England & Wales, Brazil and New York.
He specializes in M&A and private equity transactions in a broad range of sectors, such as distribution, technology and software, media, construction, agriculture and real estate. He also regularly advises clients on the negotiation of outsourcing contracts and information technology service agreements.

In 2013, he was granted by the renowned publication Iberian Lawyer Review, the 40 under 40 prize, granted to the 40 best lawyers under 40 years of age of the Iberian Peninsula and, in 2014, he was recognized as Brazil Foreign Expert by the prestigious international guide Chambers Global.

He holds a LL.B and a LL.M in Law from the Portuguese Catholic University School of Law (Lisbon, Portugal), a Diploma in English Commercial Law from the College of Law (London, UK) and a LL.M. from Harvard Law School (MA, USA).

Louise Abbott

She supports clients caught up in collective investment schemes, Ponzi and advance fee fraud schemes, employee frauds, insolvency litigation, breach of trust, and director's duties. Louise acts for leading global businesses, professional bodies and international organisations, as well as, ultra-high-net-worth individuals and entrepreneurial businesses alike.

She is also the founder of the LB Business Network and member of the Commercial Fraud Lawyers Association.
Anne Darlington

Anne became Business Development Manager for Abacus in the Algarve region of Portugal in 1995 and has built very close and invaluable relationships with numerous local and international professionals all over Portugal.
Anne works from their Representative Office located in Almancil between Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo.

In September 2009 Anne joined the Chamber as our representative in Portugal, helping recruit new members and organising events.
David Pfeiffer

David is an American and British dual national, with an experienced banking career in management, capital markets, corporate finance, regulation, strategy, business development, risk and operations.
Pedro Guimarães

Pedro Guimarães is a partner of Eversheds Sutherland FCB, the Portuguese office of the global law firm Eversheds Sutherland, working in the Corporate, Commercial, and M&A Department.
He has over 20 years of experience. His practice is focused on complex and multijurisdictional projects, which has led to his recognition and recommendation in several international legal directories.
