Jorge de Abreu is a founding partner of the leading Portuguese law firm Abreu & Marques e Associados, (www.amsa.pt) who are long standing Corporate members of the Chamber.
Abreu & Marques began in 1972 and was one the first Portuguese law firms to open offices abroad, beginning with their London branch which opened in 1987 and became a member of The Law Society. In 1992 the firm opened an office in Funchal to handle business with the Madeira International Business Centre. Currently it has associations with law firms in Angola and Mozambique and correspondents throughout Europe, the United States and in Brazil, via its membership of The Law Firm Network. In other areas of the world it has correspondents via its membership with Praelegal, another law firm network based in Germany, Istanbul and Qatar.

Simon is the former Deputy General Manager of the London branch of Banco Santander Totta SA, a Portuguese commercial bank now part of Grupo Santander.
Simon is considered an expert on non-residential mortgages and has worked in the mortgage market since 1989. As a regular business visitor to Portugal since 1992, he has followed the growth and progress of the market. He is particularly fond of the Lagos area and has in-depth knowledge of the Algarve region asserting that, “People who buy property in Portugal fall in love with the country.” Despite the difficulties experienced since 2007 Simon believes that the Portuguese real estate market has a strong future, with many investors still purchasing quality high-end property in the region.

He has been a member of the Portuguese Chamber since 1995 and became a Chamber Director with responsibility for the Algarve event programme in 2007.

Simon was elected Vice Chairman of the Chamber in December 2010.
Cristina Correia

Cristina Correia is originally from Madeira (Portugal) and is the founder and director of Tradenvest.
Tradenvest is a UK-based company which attracts and facilitates trade and investment between Portuguese-speaking countries and the UK, by supporting companies in innovative business sectors.

She holds a MBA from Lausanne Business School (Switzerland) and a post-graduate qualification in Finance from Universidade Catolica Portuguesa, in Lisbon.

Cristina worked in banking for 14 years in Lisbon and London, and has extensive experience in private banking and corporate banking. She currently serves as a member of the organising committee for the annual Portugal Day in the UK and is chair of the Portuguese Chamber’s PCBN networking sub-committee.
Frederico Camilo-Alves

Frederico is a VP level business development and leader in commercial, retail and wholesale banking with 20 years of experience working in Portugal’s second largest bank Millennium BCP. Hands on individual with strong commercial, management and interpersonal skills and a siginifcant internacional career in th UK. Natural born networker,strongly promotes the organizational change to best serve the clients. Frederico joined the Council of the Chamber in 2015.
Geoffrey Graham

Geoffrey is a dual British and Irish national. After studying law at Birmingham and York and starting his legal career in Belfast and the City, he moved to Portugal.
He has been living and working in Lisbon for 18 years and is registered as an English solicitor with the Portuguese Law Society. He specializes in advising UK residents on their Portuguese investments, including their tax and real estate matters. In order to deal with the high demand for advice on the very favorable tax regime in Portugal (the Non Habitual Tax Residence or NHR Programme) he has formed an experienced bilingual team who provide the full range of advice for NHR applicants, from the preliminary advice to the advice on the filing of the first NHR tax return and all of the tax, property and ancillary advice required in between.
Hugo Rosa Ferreira

Since 2015, Hugo is also the Head of the firm's UK Representative Office, in London. Hugo has 15 years of dedicated experience in banking and finance, having also been General Counsel to Deutsche Bank in Portugal between 2002 and 2005.
Hugo is a guest lecturer at the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon, his Alma Mater, from where he graduated with a Degree in Law in 1998. He also has post-graduate studies in Banking Law, Insurance Law and Securities Law. Hugo is fluent in English.

He specializes in M&A and private equity transactions in a broad range of sectors, such as distribution, technology and software, media, construction, agriculture and real estate. He also regularly advises clients on the negotiation of outsourcing contracts and information technology service agreements.

In 2013, he was granted by the renowned publication Iberian Lawyer Review, the 40 under 40 prize, granted to the 40 best lawyers under 40 years of age of the Iberian Peninsula and, in 2014, he was recognized as Brazil Foreign Expert by the prestigious international guide Chambers Global.

He holds a LL.B and a LL.M in Law from the Portuguese Catholic University School of Law (Lisbon, Portugal), a Diploma in English Commercial Law from the College of Law (London, UK) and a LL.M. from Harvard Law School (MA, USA).

Maria Monteiro

Maria is the PR & Investor Relations Vice President of Gemcorp Capital, an independent investment management firm focused on emerging markets. She is also a member of the Council and heads the Committee responsible for relations between Portuguese-speaking countries and UK Business.
She began her career as a journalist, working for Bloomberg and NBC News. During her time as foreign affairs correspondent at Diário de Notícias, she was invited to work for the then Prime Minister of Portugal, José Manuel Durão Barroso. After his departure to Brussels, she continued to serve the Government in Lisbon as Press Advisor until 2005. She was then posted to the Portuguese Embassy in London, where she was Press and Political Affairs Attache.

Maria finished her degree at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, before moving to New York to complete a Master’s in Public Communications at Fordham University.
Rui Boavista Marques

Rui Boavista Marques is currently the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of Portugal in London and the Director of AICEP Global Portugal (Agency for Investment and Trade of Portugal) for the U.K. and Ireland, with the responsibility of promoting Portuguese exports of quality products and services to the U.K. and to attract direct investment into Portugal.
In his international career he has been in New York, Tokyo, Oslo, Dusseldorf and Berlin, and from 2007 to 2010 he was Executive Member of AICEP at the Head-Quarters, in charge of internationalization of Portuguese SMEs in the global markets and the worldwide network of offices of AICEP.

Although his initial academic background is Telecommunications Engineering, he holds a PhD. in Interdisciplinary Studies of Technology and Economics from the University of Tokyo and has recently completed the "Professional Certificate of Fundraising" at the University of New York.

He is a specialist in international trade and investment, writes frequently in magazines and newspapers, and has an extensive experience in international presentations on the subject.
