A New Chapter in the Sun: Portugal Returns to Scotland This November
Following the very positive response to last year’s inaugural Moving to Portugal Show and Seminars, which was held in Edinburgh in November 2025 and organised by the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in the UK, we are delighted to announce the Show will return to Scotland in 2026.
On Thursday 12 November 2026, the Show will take place at The Scotsman Hotel in central Edinburgh, this time with an expanded seminar programme designed to support Scots exploring relocation, investment and business opportunities in Portugal.
The 2025 Show demonstrated that there was much pent-up demand across Scotland for more information about moving to the sunshine.
While interest in Portugal has been growing for years, there has historically been limited access to trusted, practical expertise about the moving process that could be delivered in person. The Chamber’s 2025 Show helped address that gap by creating a focused forum where prospective movers, investors and business owners could speak directly with experienced advisers and service providers.
Building on that momentum, this year’s event will expand even further, with a larger number of exhibitors and specialist advisers now taking part. Attendees at the Show can expect broader coverage of all the legal, tax, financial planning, pensions, property and relocation facts.
A key feature of the day will be the presentation of fresh case studies from Scots who have already made the move and are now thriving in Portugal. These real-life stories will provide practical insight into decision-making, common pitfalls, and how to approach the process with confidence.

The format will remain similar to the successful 2025 event, combining expert presentations with opportunities for direct discussion. Key themes will include:

- Understanding how to reduce your tax bill due to Portugal’s favourable tax incentives
- How to claim your UK pension in Portugal
- Finding and securing the right home
