Since 2018, our Moving to Portugal Shows and Seminars have been attended by over 6,000 visitors in the UK.  In response to requests from exhibitors and visitors alike, in May 2019 we also took the Moving to Portugal events to Dublin, Ireland.

After a very successful launch event in May 2019, we were due to return to Dublin in  April 2020. Unfortunately, due to the rapid increase of Covid-19 cases in the UK and worldwide, and the continuing difficulties for our exhibitors and speakers who were travelling from Portugal to attend the event, we were forced to postpone our 21st April 2020 Dublin event to a later date.

The new date will be in April 2021 (to be confirmed)

About the Show

Around Europe, interest in moving to Portugal is growing year on year.

From the golf courses, beaches and restaurants in the Algarve to the vineyards and culture of Porto, Lisbon and the north, there is a home and way of life to suit everyone.

And with year round sunshine, golden beaches, breath-taking views, almost 1000 kilometres of beautiful mainland coastline, and golf courses, properties and restaurants that cater for every taste, Portugal offers a lifestyle for business people, second home owners or retirees that is second to none.

Moreover, Irish nationals moving to Portugal can now benefit from Portugal’s very favourable ‘non-habitual residence’ tax rules during their first ten years in Portugal.

Visitors to the Show can listen to our expert Irish and Portuguese presenters giving short presentations throughout the day.

Topics include how and where to buy a home, the legal process,  tax planning, pensions, mortgages and daily life in Portugal.

About the seminars

The Moving to Portugal Shows and Seminars are designed to answer all the questions Irish residents may have about how to organise their move to Portugal, – whether they intend to run their business from there, retire there or simply spend several months a year there to escape the Irish climate.

Alongside the seminars some carefully chosen members of the Chamber also have exhibition stands, giving visitors the opportunity to ask questions about any potential move to Portugal.

Within each seminar there are several short presentations from specialists on the following subjects:

  • Portugal’s property buying process and the NHR
  • Preparing for your move from Ireland
  • How to structure your pension transfer
  • The key to a happy retirement (Caveat Emptor)
  • Where and how to buy a home
  • Property investment hotspots

Alongside the exhibitors, staff from all the companies presenting at the seminars will be present throughout the day on their stands to answer your questions and to talk in private with you.
