Around Europe, interest in moving to Portugal is growing year on year.
After holding successful seminars in the UK on Moving to Portugal in early May 2019, we then brought our dedicated Moving to Portugal Show & Seminars to Dublin, which took place on Wednesday 15th May 2019 from 11am to 9pm at the Orient Suite, The Alex Hotel (41-47 Fenian St, Dublin, D02 H678).
The event was extremely successful, with the result that we will be returning to Dublin with the Moving to Portugal Show and Seminars again in March 2020.

From the golf courses, beaches and restaurants in the Algarve to the vineyards and culture of Porto, Lisbon and the north, there is a home and way of life to suit everyone. Moreover, Irish nationals moving to Portugal can now benefit from Portugal’s very favourable ‘non-habitual residence’ tax rules during their first ten years in Portugal.
Its long cultural heritage is still evident today, fascinating for visitors with even a passing interest in history. And with year round sunshine, golden beaches, breath-taking views, almost 1000 kilometers of beautiful mainland coastline, and golf courses, properties and restaurants that cater for every taste, Portugal offers a lifestyle for business people or retirees that is second to none.
The Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in the UK has noticed a growing demand from the Irish public for more information about Portugal’s Non Habitual Tax regime, which is very attractive to those planning to retire abroad to Portugal or restructure their businesses.
Irish nationals can currently benefit from these very favorable ‘non-habitual residence’ (NHR) tax rules during their first ten years in Portugal. To learn more about these, and other aspects of Moving to Portugal, come along to the seminars, try some Portuguese wines with us, and learn more!
Visitors can listen to our expert speakers giving short presentations throughout the day. Topics include how and where to buy a home, the legal process, tax planning, mortgages and foreign exchange.
And come and talk to Portugal’s top resorts and property agents who will also be present, with lots of properties for sale!
The Moving to Portugal Shows and Seminars are designed to answer all the questions Irish residents may have about how to organise their move to Portugal, – whether they intend to run their business from there, retire there or simply spend several months a year there to escape the Irish climate.
Alongside the seminars some carefully chosen members of the Chamber also have exhibition stands, giving visitors the opportunity to ask questions about any potential move to Portugal.
Within each seminar there are several short presentations from specialists on the following subjects:
- Portugal’s property buying process and the NHR
- Preparing for your move from Ireland
- How to structure your pension transfer
- The key to a happy retirement (Caveat Emptor)
Alongside the exhibitors, staff from all the companies presenting at the seminars will be present throughout the day on their stands to answer your questions and to talk in private with you.
