Despite its small size Portugal, and in particular the capital Lisbon, has produced no less than two tech unicorns in the last decade, namely Talkdesk and Outsystems. The city is a fertile breeding ground for tech start-ups thanks to its supportive eco system, which cross fertilizes the tech talent with the angels, business experience and office structures that they need. In collaboration with the government and the local community, Lisbon’s Mayor now has ambitions to make the city one of Europe’s most competitive, innovative and creative tech hubs.
